The 2011 Zombie Match is a pistol match. Divisions are shown below:
-
Iron Centerfire pistol (anything without an optic and/or a compensator)
-
Open Centerfire pistol (anything with an optic and/or a compensator)
-
.22 Rimfire Iron (may include compensator)
-
.22 Rimfire Optic (may include compensator)
Centerfire division competitors must have a holster. Safe holsters that cover the trigger guard are legal for any Centerfire division. (Sorry, no cross-draw or shoulder holsters, due to safety issues.)
For those shooting .22 pistol, no holster is needed. The start position for any .22 pistol is gun loaded, held with both hands, and pointed at the orange cone located downrange unless specifically required otherwise by the stage briefing. Magazines may be carried anywhere. (And you will need extra magazines, and must be able to reload during the stage!) You will bag your firearm between courses of fire. If you have a .22 holster, you may choose to use it as the start position if you wish, but it will not be required. (For example, you can start normally, and just use the holster to hold your firearm between courses of fire.)
There are NO restrictions on magazine length or mode of carry. (In a zombie situation, you should be loading up with the biggest mags you've got!)
In general, bring your pistol and shoot the match. We'll find a division for you to shoot in.
